New geological displays and cabinets unveiled in Museum Building

During Trinity Week four new displays were unveiled in the hallway of the Museum Building, and are contained in brand new cases purpose built for the space.  The displays relate to current and on-going research in geology in College: Zinc in Ireland; Radioactivity and Geology; The evolution of life on Earth; and Sodium and the age of the Earth.  The cases were purchased with the generous support of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science.  Zinc ore was kindly donated by Boliden Tara Mines.
