Success for School in PRTLI5 Programme
July 2010
The School has been informed that it will receive a grant of €1.357 million through the PRTLI5 programme to run a structured PhD Education Plan.
The programme will be managed by the TCD coordinator, Professor Fraser Mitchell, (Discipline of Botany) and includes partners from UCD (overall programme coordinator), NUIG and UL. Up to 10 PhD studentships and a postdoctoral fellowship will be available at TCD. Each studentship will run for four years and will include a taught element that will be run in collaboration with UCD through the TCD/UCD academy.
The research projects will focus on environmental aspects of sustainable development and students will have access to research facilities in the partner institutions. Studentships will be advertised when the funding plan has been finalised. We anticipate that studentships will commence in October 2011.
